As a member of the House of Delegates, she has continued her longstanding commitment to expanding housing opportunities by securing $5 million in the Virginia state budget for the Prince William County Housing Trust Fund to help preserve and expand affordable housing throughout the community.
Building on her record of creating Prince William County's first comprehensive Affordable Housing Strategy and championing investments in workforce housing, Margaret continues to advocate for policies that increase the supply of affordable homes, support first-time homebuyers, protect renters, and strengthen neighborhoods. She remains committed to ensuring that working families, seniors, and young professionals can afford to live, work, and thrive in House District 23.
Healthcare Access
Delegate Margaret Franklin believes that quality, affordable healthcare should be accessible to every Virginian, regardless of their income or ZIP code. In the House of Delegates, she has made improving maternal health a top priority by successfully passing legislation to expand maternal mental health screenings (HB 1400) and strengthen Virginia's review of severe maternal morbidity (HB 1403)—helping improve care and outcomes for mothers and families across the Commonwealth.
Building on her work to support healthcare access and community well-being, Margaret continues to advocate for policies that lower healthcare costs, expand access to providers, strengthen behavioral health services, and grow Virginia's healthcare workforce. Delegate Margaret Franklin believes that every person deserves the freedom to make their own healthcare decisions without political interference. She is committed to protecting reproductive rights and ensuring that Virginians have access to the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare, including contraception, prenatal care, maternal healthcare, and abortion services.
